So life has been insanely hectic lately. Just a snipit of the last couple weeks to bring you up to date:

Valentines Day

Overall, I feel it was a success seeing as how I spent it in class.....all day.....till 9pm at night. Then I came home and studied for a physics test that I had the next day. I did well on the test, so at least it was worth it right?

Sweethearts

I had my first pledge meeting last Thursday. It filled my schedule up really quick. I have mandatory study hours on mondays from 8-10 at the library (this actually helps because well......then I have to do my homework) and meetings on thursdays from 7-9pm. There are 30 members of my pledge class and so far, I love them all. We're playing intramurals basketball and softball. Basketball is tonight and softball starts in two weeks. Definitely looking forward to that! Also, this thursday, after our meeting is Big Sis/Lil Sis reveal. Once they are revealed they have planned the night out for us. It's sure to quite entertaining considering the last pledge party which was comprised of them getting us drunk (well tipsy in my case) and taking us bowling at 3 in the morning. Fun times were definitely had by all. Then we're all going to the UT basketball game on Saturday against kansas. In addition to all of this, I have to go out with all of the members of my pledge class individually at least once during the semester so it looks like I'll be turning into a little social butterfly.

Houston

In case you missed the fact that I was gone all weekend, I spent it in Houston with Garrett and his family. The weekend started off with dinner at this little mexican place just off campus. They stuck us in the corner, behind the mariaci band where no one would see us because it turns out that we were the only non-mexican people there. The food was pretty good as was the salsa, which you all know is all that matters in my book. Then we went to see The Chronicles of Narnia (I finally got him to take me to see it!!!!!) which I liked but he didn't. Oh well, thats just too bad. Then we drove to Houston. Saturday we did a bunch of stuff with his family including getting a pedicure with his mom. I got to hear all the obligatory embarrasing childhood stories etc. It was fun. Then we slept in till one on sunday and drove back to Austin.

I got in! We have our pledge retreat this weekend. I'm soooo excited.

So everything has been going pretty well. According to the national astrology etc... yesterday was supposed to be the most miserable day of 2006 on average, so everyone be glad, the worst is over. School is going to kick my ass this semester. I'm taking physics, physics lab, statics (applied physics in engineering), calculus 2 and sociology. Gotta love all that math and science. Also I have physics with garrett on MWF and we both have a 1hour break afterwards, so we've been able to go to lunch after class. yay!

Also I've decided to apply for Texas Sweethearts, which is an all girls social/spirit/service organization. Its also the official spirit orgnaization for Texas Basketball. The girls in it are really cool and I've had fun at all the prospective events I've been to. Applications are due on Monday and we find out if we get an interview by friday. So pray for me. There are like 150 girls applying for 50 interview and between 20 and 30 spots in the spring pledge class. Its gonna be tough.
